May You Live
May you live long, long, to a blossomed, handsome, patriarchal age,
the incandescence of your eyes illuminating fields you traverse.
May your love, irretrievably spent, gather around you in forms you can grasp,
Heaven knowing fully that both well and spring in each created being
are fed from the same water, there meant to collect and overflow.
This earth welcomes your weight and resonates with each step your heart takes,
knowing itself to be a woman able, and brought to life only
when your breath feels her face like a blind man reading.
